Home of The Original Mai Tai” In 1934, with $500 in his pocket & a dream, Victor Bergeron opened a small bar & restaurant in Oakland, California called “Hinky Dinks”. This was soon renamed Trader Vic’s in 1937, due to Victor’s habit of trading food & drink for almost anything. Our Dallas location exhibits exotic Polynesian décor mixed with great table service, many hand carved tikis & eccentric personality - the eclectic style that Trader Vic’s has become famous for. The island ambience wraps itself around you as you enter the door, beaches, moon light, escape & relaxation immediately come to mind. Executive Chef Mickie Crockett uses various different cooking methods & flavors to produce cuisine with an eclectic mix of French, Chinese, Indian & Texas flavors. Fresh seafood, true to Texas steaks & the traditional Pu Pu’s continue the legacy. In addition to excellent cuisine, we also offer a multitude of different options available to those interested in entertaining large parties from 10 to 285 people. The Trader’s culinary team & staff are also available for catering your private events & assisting with your themed parties. Our in-house services include but are not limited to cocktail receptions with light appetizers, plated formal dinners or buffet style options. The Trader Mai Tai Lounge features DJ Carl Katana spinning beats from the South Pacific, Tribal & Top 40’s - Late Nights both Fridays & Saturdays, 9pm – 2am.
